Louis Caditz-Peck

As Director of Public Policy for LendingClub, Louis strives to create a financial system that uses technology innovation to treat people better. He joined LendingClub six years ago to launch its small business lending program, using technology and responsible lending to fill the gap businesses face in access to capital.

Louis was instrumental in passing the nation’s first Small Business Truth in Lending Act, California SB 1235, passing data innovation legislation at the federal level, and forming the Small Business Borrowers’ Bill of Rights, an industry/nonprofit consensus on responsible lending standards signed by over 90 organizations. Prior to LendingClub, Louis worked at Self-Help, a leading nonprofit lender in low-income communities. He has spoken on fintech innovation and financial inclusion at the Federal Reserve, MIT, Harvard, CFSI, the Cato Institute, the SBA, and hearings and events of federal and state legislatures. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and attended the MBA program at UC Berkeley.
