Ben Zhai

Ben Zhai is the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at HC Financial Services Group (HCFS), one of China's leading online financial services firms. He is responsible for overall corporate strategy development, business planning and global development.

Ben holds more than 20 years of global financial services experience in both the United States and China. He joined HCFS from China Minsheng Bank (CMBC) where he served as senior director of Retail Banking. Prior to CMBC, he held leadership roles at several of the largest banking institutions in the United States including Bank of America, The Bank of New York (now BNY Mellon) and Bank One (now J.P. Morgan Chase).

Ben received a B.S. from Xiamen University, a M.S. in Sociology from Cornell University and Ph.D. in Social Demography from Texas A&M University.

He is a frequent key-note speaker and panelist at banking industry conferences such as Money 20/20, China Fintech Summit and Lendit Conferences. He has also served as a guest professor at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua School of Economics and Management, Schwarzman College and New York Institute of Finance.
