Aaron Lucchetti is the deputy banking editor overseeing financial-technology coverage at the Wall Street Journal. In the role, he drives coverage of global banks, Wall Street, and the technology reshaping both. Aaron’s current focus also includes an array of fast-growing fintech startups in payments, lending, investment advisory and virtual currencies. Based in New York, he started in the role in 2013 after a 17-year career as an award-winning reporter at the Journal. Aaron wrote about the financial crisis and its aftermath, the changing face of Wall Street, the world of stock exchanges and derivatives trading, the bond market, commodities, IPOs and mutual funds. Aaron and a group of Journal colleagues won the Gerald Loeb Award for breaking news in 2008 for coverage of Lehman Brothers’ collapse. His work has also earned awards from the Society of American Business Writers and Editors as well as the Society of Professional Journalists.
