Imran is the Global Head of FinTech at EY and in April 2017 was appointed as Implementation Trustee for the CMA’s Open Banking remedies. He has more than 18 years of experience in the financial services sector and spent eight years investing in the FinTech sector. At EY, Imran is focused on supporting FinTechs to scale up as well as advising financial institutions, governments and regulators on their strategies for the FinTech market. In his role as Trustee, he has oversight and responsibility for Open Banking’s development and delivery of the common technical standards underpinning the Competition and Market Authority’s (CMA) open banking initiative.

Imran is also co-founder of London-based start-up Commuter Club, which lets customers pay for annual travel cards through monthly instalments and was featured in 2015’s FinTech 50. Imran’s efforts within FinTech have been recognised by the government, who awarded him an OBE for services to Financial Services in the 2017 New Year’s Honours list. Imran holds a Master’s in Engineering from Cambridge University and is a CFA charter holder.
